Description:
The National Science Foundation (NSF) is seeking proposals for the Computational and Data-Enabled Science and Engineering (CDS&E) meta-program. This program aims to identify and capitalize on opportunities for major scientific and engineering breakthroughs through new computational and data-analysis approaches and best practices. The CDS&E meta-program supports projects that harness computation and data to advance knowledge and accelerate discovery above and beyond the goals of the participating individual programs. Some key areas of focus for this program include: • Large-scale simulations and the ability to accumulate massive amounts of data • Development and adaptation of advances in research and infrastructure in computational and data science • Interactions among theory, computing, experiment, and observation to achieve progress on hitherto intractable science and engineering problems • Algorithm and pilot software development supporting science and engineering Proposers are advised to consult the related programs links and read program descriptions and solicitations carefully before submitting a proposal.

Budget Estimate (AI):

$200,000 – $3,000,000

The budget amount for this grant is not specified in the document. However, based on the NSF's typical funding ranges, it is likely that the award amount will be in the range of $200,000 to $1 million per year, depending on the scope and complexity of the proposed project. The total project duration is likely to be 2-3 years, which would put the total award amount in the range of $400,000 to $3 million. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of proposals received, the quality of the proposals, and the availability of funds.
