Native American/Native Hawaiian Museum Services (2027)

The Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is soliciting grant proposals to support Native American Tribes, Alaska Native Villages, and nonprofit organizations that primarily serve Native Hawaiians. Up to 20 awards will be made, ranging from $5,000 to $250,000 each, to fund projects that strengthen museum capacity through language preservation, professional development, collections stewardship, community engagement, digital initiatives, and conservation. Eligible applicants must be a federally recognized Indian tribe or a nonprofit serving Native Hawaiians. Applications are due 11:59 p.m. ET on November 13, 2026 via Grants.gov. Projects must start August 1, 2027 and may run for one to three years (up to July 31, 2030).
