Description
This solicitation seeks a qualified engineering consultant to design a new 24‑inch ductile‑iron water transmission main for Kansas City’s public utilities. The design will replace a segment of an existing 36‑inch prestressed concrete pipe, require hydraulic analysis, and must address multiple jurisdictions, including county, state, and private property easements. The consultant will deliver detailed design drawings, specifications, valve and air‑release assembly selection, and flow‑isolation chamber design, ensuring redundancy and compliance with local and federal water‑service standards.
• Design ~13,600 ft of 24‑inch ductile‑iron water main, including valves, air‑release assemblies, and interconnections.
• Perform hydraulic analysis to verify system functionality and redundancy.
• Coordinate across Wyandotte County, Kansas City, KDOT (I‑435), and private landowners.
• Deliver complete design documentation and specifications for construction.
