KC135 Life Raft Securing Device

The U.S. Air Force is seeking a contractor to develop and field a Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) that standardizes the securing of life‑saving rafts on KC‑135 aircraft. The current configuration uses non‑standard, field‑expedient restraints in forward‑left and forward‑aft positions, creating safety and crashworthiness concerns. The effort will eliminate the right‑hand raft position and replace the existing ad‑hoc restraints with engineered, hard‑mounted strap assemblies identical to those already proven aft‑left. The contractor will be responsible for design, engineering analysis, certification, installation, testing, and documentation to ensure compliance with Air Force safety standards.
