Central Garage Underground Fuel Storage Tank Removal

The City of Aurora is seeking a qualified contractor to remove three inactive underground storage tanks (USTs) at the former Central Maintenance Garage located at 720 N. Broadway. The tanks include one 20,000-gallon diesel UST and two 20,000-gallon gasoline USTs. The removal must be done in accordance with the Illinois Leaking Underground Storage Tank (LUST) Program and all pertinent federal and state guidelines. The contractor will be responsible for excavating, removing, and disposing of the tanks, as well as restoring the area to its original condition. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. • The contractor must have experience with similar projects and be able to work cooperatively with the City. • The contractor must provide proof of insurance and bonds. • The contractor must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. • The contractor must provide a detailed plan for the removal and disposal of the tanks. • The contractor must ensure that all work is done in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
