Novel Experiential Technologies Assisting Individual Learning (NExT AI) Hubs (P20 Clinical Trial Optional)

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking applications for the Novel Experiential Technologies Assisting Individual Learning (NExT AI) Hubs initiative. This initiative aims to support research on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies on developmental outcomes in children at risk for or diagnosed with specific learning disabilities. The NExT AI Hubs will include a single Research Project and a Leadership Core that support the goals and aims of the Hub. The initiative seeks to speed the maturation of nascent/novel, high-impact, high-risk research, build an evidence base for the SLD community, and provide project-embedded, career-enhancing research and professional development opportunities. Key aspects of this opportunity include: • The NExT AI Hubs will focus on understudied, highly innovative, and high-risk research topics related to AI technologies and specific learning disabilities. • Applications must include a single Research Project and a Leadership Core. • The initiative aims to integrate research topics relevant to various research programs at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and align with the NICHD Strategic Plan. • Applications must be submitted electronically through the ASSIST system. • The deadline for submission is October 02, 2026.
