The Orleans Parish School Board (OPSB) is issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to expand its pool of qualified engineering consulting firms for capital‑project work on K‑12 school facilities throughout New Orleans. Selected firms will be placed in a three‑year contract pool (with two optional one‑year renewals) and may be called on for design, bidding, construction administration, and close‑out of projects that replace critical building systems, renovate historic schools, or add new components. The scope requires expertise in civil, structural, MEP, historic preservation, and related sub‑consulting disciplines, as well as compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s historic preservation standards and OPSB’s Facilities Standards Guide. DBE participation is strongly encouraged, with a target of 35 % of the design fee earned by DBE firms. The RFQ includes a mandatory virtual pre‑qualification meeting (Sept 24, 2026), a question deadline (Sept 29, 2026), and a final submission deadline (Oct 8, 2026). Evaluation will be based on technical qualifications, past K‑12 project experience, key personnel, sub‑consultant capabilities, schedule/budget performance, and DBE participation.
