ME-32 South Grand Cheiner Marsh Creation

The ME-32 South Grand Chenier Marsh Creation project is located in the Mermentau Basin, Chenier Sub-Basin, and Hog Bayou Watershed in southwest Louisiana. The project aims to create and nourish approximately 466 acres of marsh using material dredged from the Gulf of America. The goal is to create new wetland habitat, restore degraded marsh, and reduce wave erosion of organic soils. The project involves the construction of approximately 20,375 LF of earthen containment dike. • The project is funded by the Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) Task Force and the State of Louisiana's Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA). • The project requires the contractor to have experience in marsh creation, hydraulic dredging, and earthen containment dike construction. • The contractor must provide a management plan, project schedule, and equipment plan as part of their proposal. • The award will be based on the lowest cost, technically acceptable offer.
