School Transportation Services

The East Providence School Department is seeking a qualified vendor to provide school transportation services for a period of three years, with the option to extend for an additional three years. The contract will commence on July 1, 2025. The successful bidder will be required to provide all necessary services, including drivers, monitors/bus aides, fuel, transportation equipment, maintenance, operation, supervision, inspection, registration, licensing, and insurance. The bidder must also comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations of the State of Rhode Island. Some key aspects of the job include: • Providing regular transportation for all designated school children • Providing transportation for athletic and extracurricular activities • Maintaining buses in good working condition • Ensuring all buses are equipped with necessary safety features, such as crossing gates and video cameras • Providing a separate telephone connection for the School Department to make quick contact with the owner or agent • Designating a staff member to coordinate transportation arrangements under the contract • Submitting written reports of bus counts showing the number of riders on each bus and each round trip.
