The Indian Health Service (IHS) is seeking sources for surgical nursing services at the Pine Ridge Service Unit Hospital in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. The contractor will provide qualified Registered Nurses to work in the Surgery Department, including pre-op, post-op, and operating room settings. The services will include patient care, medication administration, vital sign assessment, and other tasks as needed. The contractor must have experience in surgical nursing and meet the requirements outlined in the performance work statement. Key responsibilities include: • Providing direct patient care for surgery department patients of all ages with diverse medical and nursing diagnoses • Performing nursing reassessments independently to evaluate patient response to nursing interventions • Maintaining complete nursing documentation, medical record confidentiality, and safeguards medical information • Consulting with primary care providers and other healthcare professionals on patients to coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens • Providing patient and family education which includes counseling and assisting the patient/family to understand and accept implications of care, diagnosis, and treatment
