Description

The U.S. Embassy Nepal is seeking a qualified vendor to design, manage, and execute a documentary-based public awareness campaign to deter irregular migration to the United States from Nepali communities. The campaign will produce original documentary films and conduct facilitated community screenings across Nepal, complemented by a nationwide social media campaign and locally tailored outreach materials. The selected vendor will oversee all program design, coordination, execution, and reporting for the campaign. Key components of the campaign include promotion, outreach, and community engagement, documentary production, community screening events, and a nationwide social media campaign. The project will be implemented over an approximately 8-month period, beginning September 1, 2026, and concluding April 30, 2027. Some key requirements for the vendor include: • Minimum 5 years of experience in documentary film production, public awareness campaigns, or community-based communications in Nepal • Demonstrated experience producing documentary or narrative content that addresses sensitive social issues, including migration, human trafficking, or related topics • Strong network across Nepal, including high-emigration areas, and established relationships with local government, civil society, and community organizations • Demonstrated experience designing and managing social media campaigns with measurable public awareness outcomes in Nepal • Ability to conduct ethical, community-rooted research and storytelling with vulnerable populations, including adherence to informed consent and participant protection standards • Experience supporting behavior change communications or public information campaigns in partnership with government or international organizations • Strong capacity for bilingual coordination, communications, and reporting

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

Given the scope and requirements of the project, the budget is estimated to be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000. This estimate is based on the assumption that the project will require significant resources, including personnel, equipment, and travel, to design and execute the documentary-based public awareness campaign across Nepal. The estimated budget range takes into account the costs associated with producing documentary films, conducting community screenings, and implementing a nationwide social media campaign. However, the actual budget may vary depending on the vendor's proposal and the U.S. Embassy's budget for the project. Factors that may influence the budget include the vendor's experience, the complexity of the project, and the level of resources required to achieve the project's objectives.
