FILTER MEDIA REPLACEMENT CHARLES B. BACON W/S TREATMENT PLANT

The City of Middletown is seeking a qualified contractor to replace filter media at the Charles B. Bacon Water Treatment Plant. The work includes removal and disposal of existing anthracite and sand filter media, installation and disinfection of new sand and granular activated carbon media, repair of porous filter plates, caulking, new piping, valves, flow meters, supports, and repainting. Bids must be sealed, submitted in duplicate, and include a 5 % bid bond; performance and labor‑and‑materials bonds of 100 % of the contract sum and a 10 % maintenance bond are also required. A pre‑bid meeting is scheduled on‑site (Sept 2, 2026) and attendance is strongly encouraged.
