The U.S. Armyâs Joint Project Manager for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Sensing is conducting a market survey to identify industry partners capable of developing, testing, and integrating the Vehicle Integrated Point Enhanced RADIAC (VIPER) system. VIPER is intended to replace legacy radiological monitoring equipment on ground and aviation platforms, delivering realâtime crew exposure data, networked doseârate measurements, and environmental radiation assessments. The solicitation is an RFI only; no contract award is guaranteed, but responses will inform future development and potential followâon procurements. Respondents must submit a concise (â¤10âpage) PDF response by the deadline and may request access to a CUI technical specification package if they meet cybersecurity requirements (CMMC Level 2, NIST 800â171, etc.).
⢠Replaces AN/VDRâ2 and AN/UDRâ13 legacy radiac systems.
⢠Provides gamma doseârate, total dose, and prompt dose detection inside and outside vehicles.
⢠Must survive harsh mechanical (vibration, shock) and electromagnetic environments (MILâSTDâ810H, â461G, â464).
⢠Preferred use of mature, nonâdevelopmental or COTS technologies; solidâstate or scintillator sensors encouraged over traditional GeigerâMĂźller tubes.
⢠Networkâcapable data output to host platform and Army command systems.
⢠Requires SWaP optimization, maintainability, calibration concepts, and cybersecurity hardening.
⢠Vendors must submit administrative, business, technical, and pastâperformance information; optional CUI access request for detailed specs.
