Description
The County of Orange, California is seeking innovative partners to provide a resilient nutritional program for Orange County residents aged 60 and older. The goal of this Call for Innovation is to better understand the ecosystem of qualified partners, their capabilities, and their service geography, and to increase participation in the forthcoming bidding and selection process. The program aims to provide high-quality dietician-certified meals across the County through several delivery models, including congregate and home-delivery. The qualified mix of reliable logistics and high standards of nutritional care will support the long-term health and independence of Orange County's older population. Key requirements include nutritional compliance, logistical reliability, specialized diets, data integrity, and food safety.
• The program will serve approximately 360,000 meals per year for the C-1 Congregate Meal Program and 1,000,000 meals per year for the C-2 Home-Delivered Meal Program.
• The program will require partners to provide therapeutic menus, culturally appropriate meal options, and a "zero-fail" delivery model.
• Partners will be required to track meal counts, client intake, and service units for federal and state reimbursement reporting.
• The program will prioritize a "holistic nutrition" approach that includes specialized dietary options, social engagement opportunities, and a highly reliable delivery network.
