The Alaska Department of Natural Resources, Division of Oil & Gas (DO&G) is preparing the 2027 Cook Inlet and Alaska Peninsula areawide oil and gas lease sales. DO&G is seeking “substantial new information” that has become publicly available in the past year and that relates to the best‑interest findings for these lease areas. Submissions may include published research, studies, or data on petroleum potential, fish and wildlife, land use, cumulative environmental effects, lease stipulations, mitigation measures, and related regulatory or fiscal considerations. Information must be submitted by 5:00 PM on October 23 2026. Submissions can be mailed, faxed, or emailed to the DO&G leasing section. The agency will review the material and decide whether to issue a supplement to the existing best‑interest findings or to issue a decision of no substantial new information, which will affect the upcoming lease sale scheduled for Spring 2027.
