Record Keeping and Actuarial Consulting Services - Technical ONLY

The Washington County Board of County Commissioners is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide record-keeping and actuarial consulting services for the County's retirement plan, length of service award program, and other post-employment benefits. The selected firm will be responsible for maintaining independent service histories, salary histories, and employee contribution histories, as well as providing annual employee statements and actuarial valuations. The firm will also be expected to provide consulting services and make presentations to the County Commissioners. The contract will be for a one-year period, with the option to renew for up to four additional years. • The County's retirement plan is a defined benefit plan with approximately 802 participating employees and 521 retirees and non-active members. • The length of service award program provides retirement, disability, and line-of-duty death benefits to eligible volunteers. • The County is seeking a firm with experience in providing record-keeping and actuarial consulting services to governmental entities. • The firm must have at least one enrolled actuary on staff and be able to demonstrate a high understanding of contributory defined benefit plans. • The firm will be expected to provide a comprehensive valuation report for each plan, as well as pension expense and disclosure information required by the County's auditors.
