Description
The State of California is seeking a qualified electrical contractor to perform interior electrical upgrades at the CalVet Headquarters in Sacramento. The work includes full demolition and replacement of switchgear, panelboards, transformers, busway, and related distribution equipment, provision of temporary power for critical loads, and a detailed circuit‑tracing deliverable that updates the as‑built Revit model. The contractor must hold a Class A or B license, provide performance and payment bonds, comply with prevailing‑wage rules, and meet mandatory DVBE participation and small‑business preference requirements. A mandatory pre‑bid site inspection is scheduled, and bids must be submitted by early October.
• Replace existing electrical service equipment (switchgear, panelboards, transformers, busway) throughout the six‑story building and roof.
• Provide temporary power for security, server room, UPS, freight elevator, pumps, fire alarm, and egress lighting during service disconnect.
• Conduct circuit‑tracing, label all devices, and deliver an updated as‑built Revit model and AutoCAD files after construction.
• Meet strict schedule (≈ 55 working days/445 calendar days) with liquidated‑damage and withholding penalties for delays.
• Satisfy DVBE (≥ 3 % participation) and small‑business preference, submit required bonds, insurance, and CRCs for any off‑road diesel fleet vehicles.
