Acquisition of PCIe-5764 FlexRIO 16 bit Digitizer

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate and award a contract without providing for full and open competition to acquire a PCIe-5764 FlexRIO 16 bit Digitizer. This device is a critical component of the Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) imaging system, which is being developed for human applications. The EPR imaging system is a specialized low field MRI technique that utilizes an exogenous paramagnetic tracer administered to live subjects, enabling the creation of detailed, non-invasive, and quantitative maps of tissue oxygenation. • The device must be a 16-bit digitizer with an onboard FPGA (field programmable gate array) to enable real-time signal and image processing. • The device must be capable of maintaining required time resolution and significantly improving detection sensitivity. • The device must be compatible with the existing EPR imaging system. • The contract will include all applicable provisions and clauses in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2026-01. • The acquisition is conducted under the procedures as prescribed in FAR subpart 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures at an amount not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold ($350,000).
