Description
The U.S. Navy’s F/A‑18E/F and EA‑18G Program Office will issue a firm‑fixed‑price competitive solicitation for non‑recurring engineering (NRE) services to design, develop, fabricate, and deliver Zn/Ni conformal anodes for the nose and main landing gear of the F/A‑18E/F and EA‑18G aircraft. The effort includes creating technical drawings, anode cases, performing first‑article inspection (FAI) on the existing overhaul line, and updating the Technical Data Package to support the transition from cadmium to low‑hydrogen‑embrittlement zinc/nickel plating. This is a pre‑solicitation notice; no proposals are being accepted at this time, and the formal RFP will be posted on SAM.gov in the future.
• Scope: Design, development, fabrication, and delivery of Zn/Ni conformal anodes and associated documentation for landing‑gear components.
• Required deliverables: Technical drawings, anode cases, first‑article inspection reports, current‑density analysis, and updated Technical Data Package.
• Contract type: Firm‑fixed‑price NRE, competitive.
• Target platform: F/A‑18E/F and EA‑18G aircraft landing gear.
• Key performance: Verify adequate thickness/uniformity of Zn/Ni plating and successful integration with existing overhaul processes.
