Emergency Sewer Work

The City of New York’s Department of Design and Construction is creating a pre‑qualified contractor list to respond quickly to emergency sewer failures across all five boroughs. Qualified firms will be able to provide labor, materials, and equipment for the reconstruction or replacement of collapsed or defective sewers and related appurtenances, as directed by the project engineer, and will handle ancillary restoration work on an emergency basis. This solicitation is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and does not yet solicit price proposals; instead, it seeks to identify firms that meet technical, safety, and capacity criteria for future emergency work orders. • Scope: Emergency repair, reconstruction, or replacement of municipal sewer lines and appurtenances city‑wide. • Requirement: Firms must demonstrate ability to mobilize quickly, supply labor/equipment, and comply with NYC engineering standards. • Outcome: Selected firms will be placed on a pre‑qualified list (PQL) for immediate call‑outs on emergency sewer incidents.
