APMA F20222327 - A Suction Dredging Application Within the Nome Mining District - Norton Sound

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources has received a Multi-Agency Application for Permits to Mine in Alaska (APMA) for suction dredging in the Nome Mining District, near the community of Nome. The applicant, Arctic Sea Mining LLC, is requesting authorization for suction dredging as well as reclamation approval on state lands. The proposed dates of use are from the date of authorization issuance to December 31, 2026. • The application includes requests for Miscellaneous Land Use Permits (MLUPs), Approved Plan of Operations, and Reclamation Plan Approvals for mining operation. • Cross country travel on state lands not within state mining locations may also be authorized. • Other state land use outside of the mining locations, if any, will be adjudicated by DNR separately. • The deadline for comments is August 25, 2026 @ 5:00 PM AST.
