Description
The Lewis County Public Utility District is seeking a contractor to manage the end‑to‑end handling of surplus and scrap metal generated at its facilities. The contractor must purchase, containerize, transport, and recycle the materials on an as‑needed basis, providing all labor, equipment, permits, and related services. No minimum volume is guaranteed; the District will issue pickup requests as scrap becomes available, and the contractor must respond within five working days to replace full containers with empty ones. The contract is a revenue‑type agreement where the contractor pays the District per‑pound rates, with a two‑year initial term and possible one‑year extensions.
• Scope includes collection, weighing, classification, transport, and monthly reporting of various metal categories (aluminum, copper, brass, iron, etc.).
• Contractor must provide containers, vehicles, and all necessary permits; response time ≤ 5 working days after notice.
• Payment is based on actual weight at market‑indexed rates; no guaranteed minimum revenue, but annual scrap volumes are estimated in the tens of thousands of pounds.
