Pharmaceutical Services for Douglas County Health Center

The Douglas County Health Center is seeking a vendor to provide pharmaceutical services. The vendor will be responsible for providing accurate and timely delivery of medications, partnering with the Health Center to agree on a manageable and cost-acceptable formulary, and providing various other services such as IV medications, bubble packing, and specialty medication enrollment. The vendor will also be required to attend monthly QAPI meetings, obtain medication prior authorizations, and utilize e-prescribing and integrate with the electronic medical record system. Some key points to consider include: • The Health Center has an annual occupancy rate of approximately 91% and provides services to 254 beds. • The payer breakdown is 78% Medicaid, 3% Medicare A, 1% managed care, 9% private pay, 8% VA, and 1% other. • The Youth Center has an average census of approximately 80 youth, with 50% Medicaid and 50% billed directly back to the Youth Center. • The Health Department clinics may require occasional special-order items, and a process will need to be in place to procure these items.
