Grinding Christmas Trees 2025/2026

The City of Omaha is seeking a contractor to grind Christmas trees collected at specific locations in Omaha. The contractor will be responsible for monitoring the sites, grinding the trees, and delivering the mulch to the City's OmaGro compost facility. The contractor must also remove trash and debris from the sites and ensure that the trees are ground to a size not exceeding 2-inch nominal. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. • The contractor must begin monitoring the sites on December 26, 2025, and finish grinding the trees by January 16, 2026. • The contractor must provide daily access to the sites, grind and compact the trees, and remove trash and debris. • The contractor must remove all plastic bags and contaminants from the trees before grinding. • The contractor must deliver the mulch to the OmaGro compost facility and ensure that it is used in the City's composting operation.
