Type 1 4x4 Ambulances

The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking to purchase four Type 1 4x4 Diesel Ambulances and one Type 1 4x4 Gas Ambulance. The ambulances must meet the requirements specified in the Federal Specification for the Star-of-Life Ambulance (KKK-A-1822F). The contract includes requirements for the ambulance's design, construction, and equipment, as well as testing and certification procedures. Some key features of the ambulances include: • A minimum payload capacity of 1,500 lbs for van ambulances and 1,750 lbs for modular ambulances • A piped medical oxygen system capable of storing and supplying medical oxygen • A complete litter fastener assembly that meets the performance requirements of SAE J3027 • A patient compartment with seating for emergency medical services providers and patients • A variety of equipment, including oxygen cylinders, cardiac monitors, and fire extinguishers The contract also includes requirements for the testing and certification of the ambulances, including compliance with AMD tests 003 and 005-026, as well as SAE standards and recommended practices.
