R--Notice of intent to Sole Source - AAAS FELLOWSHIP

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) intends to award a sole source contract to the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) for a Science and Technology Policy fellow's services. The objective of this work is to connect science with policy and foster a network of science and engineering leaders who understand government policymaking and are prepared to develop and execute solutions to address societal challenges. The AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellowship Program is unique to AAAS and available only through them. • The program has been in existence for over 48 years and is a partnership with the Executive and Congressional Branches of the Federal Government. • The program aims to have highly qualified scientists contribute their analytical and scientific skills to policy, planning, and programmatic activities of the federal government. • The proposed contract is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b).
