Underwriter Services

The Socorro Independent School District is seeking a bond underwriter to provide services in connection with the issuance of tax-exempt and taxable bonds. The selected firm will be expected to work with the district's finance team on financial structuring, credit structure, and documentation development. The firm will also be responsible for attending meetings, assisting in the preparation of presentations and documentation, and providing ongoing information to the district's finance team. The contract will be for a term of two years with the option for two additional extensions. • The firm should have experience in serving as a bond underwriter for educational entities in Texas. • The firm should have experience in serving as a bond underwriter for public entities located along the Texas/Mexico border. • The firm should have a strong understanding of the district's credit and be able to identify potential credit challenges. • The firm should have the ability to handle bond issues and identify markets. • The firm should have formal or informal agreements with investment banking, investment broker, or consultant corporations. • The firm should have assigned personnel with experience in school district financings. • The firm should provide references from previous clients.
