Public Art - Madison LakeWay SkyLine

The City of Madison is seeking qualified artists to provide site-specific artwork for the Madison LakeWay SkyLine project. The project aims to transform the lakefront into a beautiful and activity-rich signature park. The selected artist will work with the Ad Hoc Madison LakeWay Public Art Selection Committee, Madison Arts Commission, and various City departments to develop the project. The budget for the project is $100,000 to $750,000, and the selected artist will be required to provide a design proposal, narrative description, and maintenance plan. • The project includes various stakeholders, including the City of Madison, Madison LakeWay Partners, and community members. • The artwork must conform to public safety, building code, and zoning regulations. • The artist must allocate some of the budget to cover the costs of structural drawings stamped by a licensed structural engineer. • The artwork must utilize materials that are permanent, durable, vandal-resistant, and require minimal maintenance. • The artist will be required to guarantee, maintain, and remedy any defects or faults in workmanship or materials within a period of ten years from the date of final acceptance of the artwork.
