The Town of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, is seeking bids for the rehabilitation of the exterior of the Saunderstown Water Tank and surrounding concrete. The project involves preparing and painting the bottom two rings of the steel tank, repairing the concrete base, and applying a coat of urethane or similar product to the base area. The successful bidder must comply with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations regarding the rehabilitation of water storage tanks. The bid must include all equipment and rental costs necessary to complete the project, and all work will be conducted in compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations. • The concrete base has loose and spalling concrete which will need to be repaired. • The water tank rehabilitation will involve proper preparation, applying a coat of two-part epoxy to the lower two rings, and applying a topcoat of urethane. • Efforts must be made to match the existing color as close as possible. • The contractor must provide their policies/intentions regarding applying coatings in relation to weather conditions and condensation on tank surfaces. • Clean up and disposal of all unused materials, tools, and debris used or created during and after the project is completed.
