Description

Laramie County Community College (LCCC) is seeking qualified contractors to replace aging high‑bay fluorescent lighting throughout five campus buildings with energy‑efficient LED fixtures, add occupancy sensors, and install dimming controls where required. The work includes demolition of existing fixtures, reuse of existing branch circuiting, installation of new LED lamps and drivers, and integration of control systems per the provided plans. Two schedule alternatives are offered: a base completion date of January 15 2027 and an alternate extension to March 23 2027. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder who complies with Wyoming residency requirements, provides required bonds and insurance, and meets all submission criteria. • Scope covers Central Plant North (≈4,500 sf, 22 lights), Career & Technical (≈11,000 sf, 166 lights), Flex Tech (≈8,750 sf, 42 lights), Plant Operations (≈33,000 sf, 150 lights + 10 exit signs), and Recreation & Athletics Complex (≈750 sf, 4 lights). • Required installations: LED fixtures, dimmers in offices, occupancy sensors in storage/mezzanine areas, and new exit signage where applicable. • Mandatory pre‑bid conference on August 27 2026 (2 pm MT) – attendance required to submit a bid. • Bid submission deadline: September 17 2026 5 pm EDT. • Contractor must provide three recent references if not performed LCCC work in the past 3 years and must certify Wyoming residency.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $250,000

The retrofit involves roughly 400 LED fixtures plus 10 exit signs, occupancy sensors, and dimming controls across five buildings. Assuming an average installed cost of $200 – $250 per LED fixture (including labor, disposal, and wiring) yields $80,000 – $100,000. Adding sensors, dimmers, design/engineering oversight, permits, and contingency could add $40,000 – $150,000. Therefore a realistic contract value likely falls between $120,000 and $250,000, depending on final material selections and schedule option.
