The Lee County Transit is seeking to purchase Genfare Smart Card Bus Passes from Genfare, LLC. The smart cards come in a variety of preprogrammed prices that are compatible with the fare collection system for the fixed-route buses. The procurement is being done through a single-source method due to the compatibility issues that may arise with different vendors. • The smart cards can be loaded with funds by customers at transfer stations and main offices, through vending machines, and via a mobile app. • The fare collection system currently in place is a Genfare Automatic Fare Collection System. • The procurement method is being used to ensure compatibility with the existing fare collection system and fare structure.
