Clemson University is seeking an experienced firm to operate, manage, and process recyclables at its Kite Hill Recycling Center. The contractor will be responsible for daily facility operations, material handling, equipment maintenance, staffing, safety compliance, commodity marketing, reporting, and optional event‑related recycling services. Compensation will be based on a flat facility‑usage fee, per‑ton processing rates for university‑generated materials, and fees for any outside material processed, with the possibility of revenue‑sharing arrangements. The contract’s initial term is three years with up‑to‑four one‑year renewal options, and the university may retain separate waste‑hauling contracts.
• Manage daily operations of a ~5,000 sq ft recycling facility (paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, pallets, e‑waste).
• Provide staffing, training, OSHA‑compliant safety programs, and equipment maintenance (balers, conveyors).
• Process university‑generated recyclables and optionally additional streams; market commodities and report tonnage.
• Submit separate technical and financial proposals; optional alternative operating approaches are allowed.
• Contract term: 3 years initial, renewable up to a total of 5 years; monthly invoicing with detailed reconciliations.
