A/E Design Services – Building A, 8th Floor Modernization

The U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) is seeking professional Architect-Engineer (A/E) services to modernize approximately 17,000 square feet on the 8th floor of Building A. The project aims to deliver a multi-functional workplace environment that supports building occupants, tenant agencies, and visitors. The scope of work includes existing conditions investigation, feasibility and concept study, design, and construction period services. The A/E shall provide all labor, supervision, technical expertise, and professional services required to support the project from feasibility assessment through preparation of construction documents. Key aspects of the project include: • Modernizing the 8th floor of Building A to create a multi-functional workplace environment • Providing a self-service lounge or refreshment area, conference and meeting facilities, and flexible workspace area • Ensuring phasing, safety of occupants, and protection of existing building systems during design and construction • Incorporating sustainable design principles and the newest technology • Complying with applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards
