Lower American River Conservancy Program

The Lower American River Conservancy Program aims to restore, enhance, interpret, protect, and improve public access to the American River Parkway's natural, recreational, educational, and cultural resources. The program will provide grants to fund projects that acquire, restore, enhance, and maintain fish and wildlife habitat, improve public access, recreational areas, and facilities, and control invasive species. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and tribal governments. The total estimated available funding is $750,000, and the expected award announcement is continuous. * Eligible projects include acquisition, restoration, enhancement, and maintenance of fish and wildlife habitat * Improvement and expansion of public access, recreational areas, and facilities * Enhancement of interpretive and educational facilities * Control and removal of invasive species and propagation of native species * Stormwater capture and treatment projects to improve water quality and increase habitat for fish and wildlife.
