Invitation to Bid (ITB) F2026-12-002-2 - Galena Hangar Lease

The Department of Public Safety, Division of Administrative Services, is looking to lease hangar space in Galena, Alaska. The hangar space should be between 2,500 and 3,600 square feet in size and provide year-round access for state aircraft. The lease should include a locked and secure facility with 24-hour access, and the contractor should provide an aircraft tug for moving aircraft. The state prefers a hangar with an AVGAS tank, restroom, and tug for use, but these are not mandatory. The contract is expected to be for a period of one year, and the state estimates a budget of between $500,000 and $1,200,000 for this contract. • The hangar space should be in a building of sound and substantial construction. • The hangar door should be of adequate dimensions to accommodate the required aircraft or equipment. • The hangar should have a weather-tight roof and outside coverings. • The hangar should have operational windows and doors, including hardware. • The hangar should have emergency and fire exits that are freely accessible and operational. • The contractor should provide a heating system to maintain a uniform temperature between 50 and 70 degrees. • The contractor should provide electrical outlets and lighting that meet the National Electric Code. • The contractor should provide a secure and lockable entrance with access capabilities for up to ten state employees.
