REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - KIRKWOOD ACTIVATION COORDINATOR

The City of Bloomington is seeking a Kirkwood Activation Coordinator to support the 2025 Kirkwood Street Closure program. The coordinator will be responsible for designing a calendar of events, coordinating logistical needs, and engaging stakeholders to ensure a vibrant and accessible public space. The selected consultant will work with the City to activate a pedestrianized section of Kirkwood Avenue through inclusive and community-oriented programming. Key responsibilities include: • Program development: identifying and evaluating potential events and community partnerships • Event coordination and logistics: serving as the primary liaison for event organizers and vendors • Stakeholder engagement: conducting outreach to local businesses and community groups • Documentation and reporting: tracking performance metrics and submitting a final report The ideal candidate will have experience in public event coordination, community engagement, and urban placemaking. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are also required.
