6-Month Contract for Sulfuric Acid

The City of Ames is accepting bids from qualified vendors to establish contract pricing per ton for the purchase of Sulfuric Acid for the Electric Services Department. The contract period will be from November 1, 2025 through April 30, 2026 with the option to renew for an additional 6 month period. The City anticipates 5-6 shipments of approximately 25 tons of sulfuric acid during the contract period. Deliveries will be made by the vendor as requested by the City to the Power Plant at 200 E. 5th St., Ames, IA 50010. Key aspects of the job include: • Providing sulfuric acid that meets the City's specifications • Delivering the sulfuric acid to the Power Plant as requested by the City • Pricing will remain fixed throughout the contract period • The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to make awards as it deems to be in the best interest of the City
