Intent on Sole Source: Instron 5985 Universal Testing Machine Preventative Maintenance and Calibration

The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) intends to award a sole-source contract to Illinois Tool Works, Inc. (INSTRON) for the preventative maintenance and calibration of the Instron 5985 Universal Testing Machine (UTM), Instron 3367 UTM, and Wilson Rockwell Hardness Tester. The contract will be for a period of five years, with a base year and four option years. The contractor will be required to provide annual preventative maintenance and calibration services, including on-site repair and labor, parts, and priority response on-site service within two business days. The contractor must also provide a comprehensive service agreement that includes software update notifications, downloadable software updates, and online helpdesk tech support. • The contractor must have experience in providing preventative maintenance and calibration services for the specified equipment. • The contractor must have a comprehensive service agreement that includes on-site repair and labor, parts, and priority response on-site service within two business days. • The contractor must be able to provide software update notifications, downloadable software updates, and online helpdesk tech support. • The contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for the award. • The contractor must be able to provide all necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, transportation, tools, materials, and other items necessary to perform the services.
