RFP for Statewide Farebox Upgrade Project

The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to design, supply, install, and maintain an integrated fare‑collection system for all fixed‑route bus services statewide. The solution must include modern fareboxes capable of accepting electronic payments, handling fare distribution, collection, and processing, and must be compatible with existing fleet hardware. The contract will cover equipment procurement, software integration, installation, testing, training, and ongoing support. • Provide fully integrated electronic fare‑collection hardware (fareboxes) for the entire CT bus fleet. • Develop or integrate software for fare payment processing, data collection, and reporting. • Install, test, and commission equipment on all applicable vehicles. • Deliver training for CTDOT staff and transit operators. • Offer maintenance, warranty, and technical support for the life of the contract.
