Rock Salt / DPWP

The City of Worcester is seeking a vendor to supply bulk rock salt and treated rock salt for a one‑year period to support winter road maintenance across the Department of Public Works & Parks. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder(s) and may be split among up to three suppliers for the plain rock salt portion. The supplier must meet strict purity and sieve‑size specifications, deliver in 32‑cubic‑yard trailer dumps to three city locations, and provide necessary insurance and certifications. • Provide up to 20,000 tons of plain rock salt (≥ 96 % NaCl) and 4,000 tons of treated rock salt with magnesium chloride additive. • Deliver material within 5 calendar days of each order (potentially 24 hours for emergencies) to three designated Worcester sites. • Meet detailed sieve‑size pass‑rates, maintain required insurance coverage, and certify compliance with conflict‑of‑interest and ethical standards.
