Landscape Services Ecological Restoration and Invasive Species for Parks and Recreation

Pierce County is seeking an on‑call contractor to provide landscape maintenance, invasive‑species control, and native‑plant installation for ecological restoration projects across wetlands, riparian corridors, and other sensitive sites. The contract will run for an initial 24‑month term with an option to extend for up to three additional years, and the total contract value is estimated at $500,000. The selected firm must have experience in restoration, proper licensing for aquatic herbicide application, and the ability to deploy manual, mechanical, cultural, and chemical control methods in compliance with Integrated Pest Management plans. • Provide crew leadership and labor to identify and treat invasive (noxious) weeds versus native vegetation. • Conduct site preparation, seeding, mulching, soil amendment, and installation of bareroot, plug, live‑stake, or container plants on sites ranging from 1,000 to >200,000 sq ft. • Perform mechanical mowing/brush‑cutting while protecting existing plantings. • Apply herbicides in regulated wetland, riparian, and upland areas (requires aquatic‑herbicide licensing). • Implement erosion control, slope stabilization, and other best‑management practices under County guidance. • Supply all labor, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and subcontractor coordination. • Respond to on‑call service requests throughout the contract period; additional mitigation or restoration sites may be added.
