TM Fiber Optic Network

The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Telecommunications and Information Administration, is seeking a contractor to rebuild the fiber optic network at the Table Mountain Field Site in Longmont, Colorado. The project involves replacing the existing fiber optic backbone with a new armored, jacketed single-mode fiber optic cable, and installing new networking equipment. The contractor will be responsible for designing and engineering the network, procuring equipment, and constructing the new fiber optic network. The project consists of five main phases: network design and engineering, identify/procure equipment, construction, networking equipment install, and project closeout. The contractor will be required to work closely with the government representative and provide regular updates and deliverables throughout the project. • The project requires the installation of approximately 18 km of armored, jacketed single-mode fiber optic cable. • The contractor will be responsible for terminating the fiber optic cable at each building and field site. • The project includes the installation of new networking equipment, including outside plant boxes and cabinets, pedestals, and fiber distribution bays. • The contractor will be required to perform industry-standard, end-to-end testing of each newly installed fiber pair and CAT 6A cable. • The project has a total duration of 365 days, and the contractor will be required to provide a project plan and schedule.
