RFP for CR 50 and TH 61 Final Design

The Washington County Public Works Department is seeking a consultant to provide final design engineering services for the County Road (CR) 50 & Trunk Highway (TH) 61 Intersection Improvement Project. The project aims to improve safety, reduce crashes, and provide clear, safe, and accessible crossings for multi-modal trail users. The selected consultant will be responsible for completing all tasks necessary to take the project to approved construction documents, including project management, data collection, public and agency engagement, design services, construction plans and specifications, and bidding and construction assistance services. Key aspects of the project include: • Reducing the frequency and severity of crashes • Providing clear, safe, and accessible crossings for multi-modal trail users • Maintaining acceptable vehicular operations for current and future traffic volumes • Identifying and implementing stormwater drainage improvements • Maintaining the long-term transportation goals of Washington County, City of Forest Lake, and MnDOT • Effectively coordinating project impacts with private utilities and the CPKC Railroad • Achieving a construction schedule that ensures previously awarded federal funding timelines are met and minimizes public inconvenience, while being sensitive to reducing overall project costs and environmental impacts
