Description

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking a contractor to provide approximately 110 acres of timber stand improvement (TSI) services, including tree felling and tree stump herbicide application, on the Goedeker and Ladd properties in Jefferson County, Missouri. The services will be provided in accordance with the Forest Management Plans for the Calico Creek Upland Restoration. The contractor must have a minimum of one year of experience with brush management and timber stand improvement, and must be proficient in the identification of native and non-native woody vegetation species commonly found in Missouri's Ozark forests during winter. • The contractor will provide TSI services on two adjacent properties, the Goedeker and Ladd properties, separated by Calico Creek. • The contractor must remove all undesirable trees from the midstory, removing 65 basal area (BA) per acre, and kill almost all trees that are 10 inches in diameter at breast height (DBH) or less. • The contractor must treat the tree stump with herbicide to prevent future resprouting and remove branches on felled cedar trees to ensure maximum trunk to ground contact to facilitate decomposition. • The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, ordinances, regulations, and codes, and must observe a "no cut period" from April 1st to October 31st for all potential suitable bat roost trees greater than 9 inches DBH.

Budget estimate

$40,000 – $70,000

The budget for this opportunity is not explicitly stated in the document. However, based on the scope of work and the fact that the contractor will be providing services on 110 acres of land, the budget is likely to be substantial. Assuming an average cost of $500 per acre for timber stand improvement services, the total budget for this opportunity would be approximately $55,000. However, this is a rough estimate and the actual budget could be higher or lower, depending on various factors such as the complexity of the work, the equipment and materials required, and the contractor's level of experience and expertise.
