Description
The City and Borough of Wrangell is seeking a qualified law firm or attorney to serve as its general municipal counsel under a flat‑fee monthly retainer model. The contractor will provide legal advice, draft and review ordinances, contracts, resolutions, and other municipal documents, and be available for consultations and at least one in‑person meeting per year. Additional specialized services (e.g., foreclosures, union negotiations) will be billed hourly. The contract is for an initial one‑year term with options for two additional one‑year extensions and may be terminated at any time.
• Primary service: General counsel on a flat monthly retainer (≈15 hrs/month).
• Scope: Legal advice, document drafting/review, participation in meetings, court representation, and management of outside experts.
• Extras: Specialized matters billed hourly; at‑least‑one annual in‑person meeting.
