Sawdust (2nd IFB for additional contractors).

Longwood University is seeking qualified vendors to supply screened, dried sawdust, wood chip, and mixed fuel for its heating plant. The contract will run for an initial two‑year period starting January 1 2011, with up to three optional one‑year renewals. Vendors must provide per‑ton pricing for both FOB‑shipping‑point (unloaded from university‑provided trailers) and FOB‑destination (including transport), meet strict size and contamination specifications, and submit a one‑quart sample of each fuel type with their bid. The university may award up to five vendors and will select the lowest responsive and responsible bids. • Supply approximately 34,500 tons of sawdust/wood‑chip fuel per year (≈ 1,380 loads). • Must meet size (≤ 3/8 in for sawdust, ≤ 1½ in for chip) and purity (≤ 1 % trash, ≤ 50 % moisture) requirements; penalties for excess moisture/trash. • Pricing required for both FOB‑shipping‑point and FOB‑destination; vendors can use university trailers or provide their own transport. • Bids due by 2 PM on December 13 2010; must include a sample, e‑VA registration, and standard certifications (insurance, debarment, etc.).
