38--High Head Test Facility Equipment

The Bureau of Reclamation's Hydraulics Laboratory is seeking a contractor to replace the existing high-head test facility pumping unit. The project involves procuring, delivering, and installing a new pump, motor, and variable speed drive, as well as uninstalling, removing, and disposing of the existing equipment. The contractor must provide a modern equivalent model of the Allis-Chalmers Type 12 V/TO Vertical Turbine Pump, meeting or exceeding the existing pump curve. The project requires a high level of operational flexibility, and the contractor must ensure that the new pumping unit can operate within a wide range of head and flow conditions. • The contractor must provide a removal and disposal plan, a safety plan, and an installation plan. • The contractor must coordinate with the Hydraulics Laboratory staff to minimize disruption of ongoing work during the removal and installation of the new pumping unit. • The contractor must provide pumping unit documentation, including pump riser calculations and drawings, manufacturer's technical data, and variable speed pump curves. • The contractor must provide VFD documentation, including manufacturer's technical data, schematic diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
