UND Campus to Airport Fiberoptic Communications Line

The University of North Dakota is seeking a qualified contractor to design‑build and install a new fiber‑optic communications line linking the UND/NDUS Data Center to the UND Airport Flight Operations Center. The project comprises roughly 6½ miles of underground and aerial fiber, installation of conduit, raceways, splices, hand‑holes, and associated telecommunications infrastructure, as well as comprehensive testing, back‑fill, and documentation. The work must comply with airport airspace regulations, municipal right‑of‑way permits, and applicable engineering standards. • Install 6½ mi of single‑mode fiber optic cable with accompanying conduit and grounding systems. • Perform trenching, back‑fill, compaction, and quality‑assurance testing per ASTM/ASTM and AIA specifications. • Provide splicing, termination, pull‑rope, tracer‑wire, and as‑built documentation; coordinate with airport (GFK) and city (Grand Forks) authorities. • Deliver a lump‑sum turnkey solution, meet a substantial‑completion deadline of 31 Dec 2026, and furnish required bonds, licenses, and insurance.
