Area of Interest (AoI) – Metal Cleaning and Finishing Services

The Department of the Army’s Anniston Army Depot is seeking innovative, depot‑level metal cleaning, surface preparation, and finishing services for a wide variety of combat vehicle components. The effort will cover chemical cleaning, abrasive media cleaning, and eleven distinct plating/coating processes, with a strict seven‑day turnaround for each part. Vendors must furnish detailed facility capabilities, a robust quality‑assurance plan meeting ASTM/MIL‑SPEC testing, and full environmental compliance, including all necessary permits and hazardous‑waste handling. This is an AoI under the CSO framework, meaning no award is guaranteed; successful responders may be placed on a future Multiple‑Award Task Order Contract (MATOC). • Services include chemical stripping, abrasive cleaning, and plating (anodizing, chromate conversion, black oxide, electroless nickel, hard chrome, zinc, tin, copper, phosphate). • Required turnaround: complete finishing within 7 working days from part drop‑off. • Vendors must provide facility capacity data (tank/oven dimensions, crane clearances) and demonstrate capability to perform all ASTM/MIL‑SPEC quality tests.
