Pump Station Wet Well Cleaning

The Town of Narragansett is seeking bids for the cleaning of the wet wells at twenty remote sewage pump stations and the influent pump station wet well at the Scarborough Wastewater Treatment Facility. The cleaning operation includes the physical removal of all floating material, bottom sediment, grit, and materials collected on the walls of the wet wells. The contractor must maintain flow through each wet well during the cleaning operation and ensure that all material removed is disposed of at the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation Central Landfill. The contractor is responsible for complying with all federal, state, and local laws, including OSHA confined space entry regulations. • The contractor must protect existing control floats and sensors in each wet well from damage during the cleaning operation. • The contractor must remove and replace grating in the wet wells to allow for complete access to all areas for the removal of grease, grit, and other materials. • The contractor may decant liquid from certain station locations at the South Kingstown Regional WWTF or the Scarborough WWTF, under specific conditions. • The contractor must schedule all work during normal Wastewater Division working hours, with approval from the Wastewater Superintendent or Maintenance Supervisor. • The contractor must complete all work prior to November 21, 2025.
